PACE BUREAU AND STANDING COMMITTEE HOLD MEETINGS

A meeting of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly’s / PACE/ Bureau and Standing Committee was held in Paris, on March 1-2. Chairman of the standing commission of Milli Majlis for international and inter- parliamentary relations Samad Seyidov said in this connection that though Azerbaijan-related issues had not been put on the agenda, importance of COE cooperation with Azerbaijan and the need for bringing it to a higher level had been touched upon at both sittings.

The programs imply fruitful joint activity of the Council of Europe deputies and employees and structures and deputies of Azerbaijan for organization of joint projects between COE and Azerbaijan. Along with other issues, the meeting also focused on combat against terrorism. It was pointed out that Azerbaijan is a state, which had been repeatedly subjected to the terrorist actions by Armenia.
