Mongolia, Türkiye discuss expanding educational cooperation
Baku, November 4, AZERTAC
Enkh-Amgalan Luvsantseren, Minister of Education, met with Ali Kurt, the newly appointed Programme Coordinator for the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) in Ulaanbaatar, according to Montsame News Agency.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Enkh-Amgalan congratulated Ali Kurt on assuming his post and thanked TİKA for its consistent support in expanding educational accessibility and creating inclusive learning environments. This support includes establishing classrooms for students with special needs in general education schools and kindergartens, as well as setting up and equipping the Cezeri Laboratory at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST).
The two sides discussed expanding the "MUST-FabLab" network across rural areas, building upon the experience of the existing Cezeri Laboratory at MUST. They also explored cooperation in establishing a comprehensive STEM laboratory at the specialized high school for engineering and technology planned under the university, as well as a "Zero Waste" training and research laboratory aimed at improving waste management and environmental sustainability.
Programme Coordinator Ali Kurt emphasized his interest to focus cooperation on human resource development, particularly supporting Mongolian citizens in pursuing master's and doctoral degrees in specialized fields in Türkiye through TİKA's programs.
Additionally, the parties exchanged views on ensuring the right to education for children of Mongolian citizens living and working in Turkey, creating environments for them to learn both Mongolian and Turkish languages simultaneously.
Since 2006, the TIKA has implemented over 950 projects in Mongolia, with approximately 300 focused on the education sector.
