Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan expand cooperation in personal data protection

Copies of a memorandum of cooperation between Azerbaijan’s National Cybersecurity Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and the State Agency for Personal Data Protection of the Kyrgyz Republic were exchanged during the Data Protection Forum 2026 in Bishkek. The document was signed by the heads of the two institutions.

The memorandum aims to strengthen cooperation in personal data protection, facilitate the exchange of information and expertise, promote the adoption of international best practices, and enhance joint efforts to safeguard the rights of personal data subjects.

Azerbaijan’s National Cybersecurity Agency was represented at the forum by Khayala Babayeva, Director of its Personal Data Protection Department. She briefed participants on Azerbaijan’s efforts to protect personal data amid the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and strengthen digital trust.
