YAP HOSTS CONFERENCE
The conference gathered Milli Majlis (Parliament of Azerbaijan) deputies, scientists and representatives of the public.
Opening the event YAP deputy chairman, executive secretary, MM deputy Ali Ahmadov said President Ilham Aliyev successfully continues Heydar Aliyev-initiated course towards rapid development of Azerbaijan. In terms of the study of the progress Azerbaijan achieved, A. Ahmadov noted that such kind of researches would be continued in the future as well. According to YAP deputy chairman, although Azerbaijan possesses much proven oil reserves, economic development cannot be merely attributed to the oil factor. There are many other factors such as maintenance of stability in the country, effective use of the oil revenues, development of the regions, attraction of the foreign investments, development of entrepreneurship.
Chairman of the MM standing commission on the economic policy, academician Ziyad Samedzadeh, renowned economists Mammad Meybullayev, Rasim Nabiyev, Mushfig Atakishiyev, Sadig Salahov and Rasul Balayev delivered reports on Azerbaijan economy development model in the 21st century, theory of sustainable economic development, characteristics and prospects of the economy in transition, oil strategy socio-economic outcomes, results and prospects of the agrarian reforms and other topics.
Speaking of the social welfare of the people of Azerbaijan and progress in poverty reduction reporters said that this year’s dramatic increase in the state budget will allow implementing a variety of socio-economic development projects both in the capital city and provinces.
Some reports said national economic development model was created in Azerbaijan and international community will soon recognize the model with the other countries applying it in future. The world sees the economic development in Azerbaijan. According to reporters, we should combine our efforts to make the world community recognize the existence of the national model of this development.
