STATE PROGRAM OPENS WIDE DEVELOPMENT PERSPECTIVES
A meeting to discuss the State Program of Socio-economic development of Provinces of Azerbaijan Republic has taken place at the Executive Power of Mingachevir. The meeting participants pointed out negotiations between the government and reputable financial and energy organizations on reconstruction of the first and eighth blocks of the Azerbaijan Hydroelectric Power Station /HPS/, first and third hydropower units of Mingachevir HPS, increase of output and number of workers at joint stock companies “Azyolmash”, “Azerkabel”, “Shusha lif”, “Gum chingil”. It was noted that industrial enterprises operate below their best without attracting foreign investments. Most of three thousand registered entrepreneurs are engaged in trade and service; share of private sector in the GDP makes up just 2,8 percent; plumbing and sewerage system got obsolete. All these facts were subjected to scathing criticism. In conclusion, a plan of concrete actions to be taken jointly by the Executive Power and local branch of the Ministry of Economic Development was announced during the meeting.
