STATE PROGRAM ON COMMUNICATION & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES DISCUSSED

A meeting related to the “State development program in accordance with the modern requirements of communication and information technologies in Azerbaijan Republic (2004-2012s)”, was held at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies, AzerTAj correspondent reports.

Opening the meeting attended by representatives of the Presidential Administration, Ministries, state and governmental and non-governmental organizations, Minister Ali Abbasov told on aim of the project and tasks carrying out in the regions.

The Minister noted that main goal of the Program is to examine current situation of the information technologies, mail, radio & TV, Internet and others and bring them to the world standards.

Touching on decrees and resolutions of the head of state related to the development of communications and information technologies, Mr. Abbasov noted that State program consists of 8 chapters.

The Minister stated that within past years, approximately 500 mln dollars were invested in the field of communications and information technologies, 70% of which falls to the share of foreign investors. Role of private sector is also high in development of this sphere. 69,1% of incomes falls on the private sector.
