Sculptures of pandas have decorated Washington streets since May this year. The Committee for Art affairs of the federal district Columbia erected 150 statues of panda in different places of the city within the frameworks of the «Pandamania» project. Bear statues can be seen in front of famous museums, hotels and restaurants. But the project is temporary and all the sculptures will be auctioned off in September to collect funds in order to develop arts.

Indeed, pandas became the favorite pets of Washington. In 1972, government of China gifted two black and white pandas to the US National Zoo.

Unfortunately, boors attacked 150 panda statues. The TV cameras shot these incidents. Sculpture authors wait the auction eve in order to restore the damaged pandas, as there are no guaranties against possible attacks.
