PACE REPORTER VISITING PLACES OF CONFINEMENT

The new reporter of PACE on the issues of political prisoners in Azerbaijan Malcolm Bruce held a meeting with representatives of the non-governmental organizations at the Hyatt Regency hotel on 8 December.

Representatives of the Azerbaijan NGOs updated the guest on the ongoing processes in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Then, Mr. Malcolm Bruce and under secretary of the legal affairs and human rights Committee of PACE David Kupina have visited the places of confinement in Baku and its outskirts. They were accompanied by the head of the Azerbaijan delegation at PACE Samad Seyidov, and chief of the Court Decisions Execution Department, major general Aydin Gasimov.

The guests met the persons who are considered political prisoners and familiarized with the situation in the places of confinement.

Visit of the PACE reporter will end on 10 December.
