“NEFTCHI” WON AZERBAIJAN CUP

Champion of Azerbaijan “Neftchi” and “Shamkir” clashed on May 9 in the cup-tie at the Tofig Bahramov stadium in Baku.

Goalkeeper of «Shamkir» Rauf Mehdiyev returned the penalty kick from Rashad Sadikhov at the 104th minute, but Samir Abbasov could take the ball into net. This made “Neftchi” a Cup winner. Shamkir could secure silver medals of the championship.

Both clubs will represent Azerbaijan in the European tournaments – “Neftchi” will play in the Champions League while “Shamkir” will compete in the UEFA Cup.
