INCREASE CARRIAGE BY SEA

The Baku International Commercial Sea Port, for the first seven months of this year handled 5.8 million tonnes of cargo, a 19.5% growth considered on year-on-year assessment. According to the data of the State Statistical Committee, private companies accounted for 2.2 million tonnes of cargo, which is 37.5% of the total circulation of goods. Transit shipment accounted for 4.3 million tonnes of the cargo, and this reflected an increase of 2.2% of transit cargo handled over the same period of 2002.

For that period of time the port loaded 755 vessels.
