GEORGIA ELIMINATES VISA REGIME

President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili arrived in Batumi after a 3-day official visit to Turkey and familiarized with the customs point Sarp.

In the course of his visit to Turkey, has been achieved an agreement on simplification of the rules of cargo transportation via customs points, creation of the “green corridor” for pedestrians.

President Saakashvili met with the residents of Sarp settlement and noted that in some months, they could freely cross the Turkish border. According to him, Prime-Minister of Turkey Erdogan will visit Georgia in July and they will try to achieve agreement on liquidation of visa regime in frontier regions.
