DRAFT LAW “ON STATE SECRET” READY FOR SECOND READING
Reporting on the project was deputy Chief of the Department of State Building Legislation of the Milli Majlis Kamran Sharifov. He let the sitting participants know that the document had been conceptually approved in the first reading, over 30 proposals of editorial character been considered, one issue, however, had remained open. So, according to him, the article 29 says that prevention of dissemination of state secrets by mass media shall be carried out by relevant executive body, while the article 32 reflects regulations on ensuring state secret protection. The deputies suggested removing the article 29 since, in their opinion, it may be considered as impediment of mass media activities.
The Commission members have decided to submit the question for discussion to the Parliament.
