BILL “ON STATE OF EMERGENCY” DISCUSSED

Milli Majlis standing committee on issues of security and defense held regular sitting on 27 May and discussed the bill “On state of emergency” in the third reading, AzerTAj reported.

After the second reading, the working group has made amendments to the Bill offered by MPs and other invited, chairman of the Committee Ziyafet Askerov said. Special attention was paid to ensuring national security of state and maximum protection of human rights and freedoms.

In the course of discussions, the deputies noted that during the state of emergency, search in the apartments of citizens without warrant of court is illegal. As Mr. Ziyafet Askerov noted, the mentioned fact is, on the whole not a violation of law, because such search on operational data might serve security of other citizens.

The Bill was decided to submit to consideration of the parliamentarians.
