AJARIA GEARS FOR ELECTIONS

The elections to the Supreme Council of Ajaria will take place June 20. The Central Election Commission of Georgia tries to use all the possibilities for democratic and fair conducting the elections.

Council of Europe Congress has sent a mission of observers led by Joseph Merge to Georgia. Joseph Merge held a meeting with journalists in Tbilisi June 17 and expressed his confidence that elections in Ajaria would be democratic.

European observers will meet with CEC representatives, leaders of political parties and candidates.

On the next day after elections, the COE observers plan to conduct a special press conference in Batumi.
